I think many of us would like to have our own corner of the Internet where we could share knowledge, ideas and personal experiences. Maybe not everyone, but I have always wanted such a space where I could not only learn, but also accumulate information, create and share my discoveries with others. Imagine - you are looking for an answer to a specific question, for example, how to use an old ice cream maker, the instructions for which are lost somewhere, or, say, you are trying to understand how to install “PocketBase“. You search for a long time, read dozens of pages, watch “YouTube“ videos and try to collect all the answers into one. Finally, you found the solution! Such a moment of discovery gives satisfaction, but at the same time a thought arises - after all, others may have been looking for the same thing or are still looking for something. Wouldn't it be great if my experience and the answers I found could help them? That's why a personal blog becomes such a valuable space. It's not just a place to store information, but also a way to create something meaningful and accessible to others.

Also, why not create a business card? I started thinking about what such a business card should look like. At first, I thought about using the “Skambēk Dzūkija“ design for a competition in which many creative young talents participated, and whose website I created. However, in the end, I realized that its design style is playful and colorful, and I wanted something more minimalist, more in line with me. So I decided to create a completely new design that would be what I really wanted.

Tadaa! I decided to give the design a unique style, to include details that are close and interesting to me. For example, my friends know that I like the squares of a chessboard - so I included this in the design of the business card. I wanted the design to be unique and reflect my personality. I created not only a business card, but also the website you are on now!

And now we come to the more complicated part - the website development process itself. At first, I chose „React“ because it allows you to quickly and efficiently create pages, while the code remains neat and easy to read. However, as the project developed and I delved deeper, I realized that I needed an even more powerful system, especially for SEO and speed aspects. This led to the decision to switch to „Next.js“. This transition allowed me to speed up page loading times, take care of search engine indexing more effectively, and achieve an even smoother user experience. It was not only a technical step forward, but also an opportunity to learn something new, because „Next.js“ is similar to „React“, although I haven't learned it yet.

In addition, „PocketBase“ remained the main database system. It allows you to quickly deploy and manage databases without much effort. (P.S. I used „PocketHost“ - free „PocketBase“ hosting! 10/10)

This website is not only a story of my achievements, but also of my personal growth. Each post here has its own meaning, each project tells a certain part of my learning path. From the initial attempts to the moment when I can share my created project with others - all this is part of my virtual archive. I hope that this blog will become a useful resource for everyone who seeks information, loves to create and learn.

So if you are on a similar path - searching, discovering, experimenting and learning - I hope that the experiences and ideas I have shared here will be useful to you. I believe that everyone who seeks knowledge and wants to create eventually finds their own unique direction. The most important thing is to follow it and let your passions and interests be reflected in the works we create. Let's let our ideas live and develop here, on the Internet, and let's believe that each small project leads us towards a greater goal!
